I am thrilled to serve as the Coordinator of Learning Services in the Upper School. Teaching and mentoring are my life’s work, and I have over twenty years of experience working with students. Early in my career, I began as a classroom teacher in one of Montgomery County’s excellent public schools in Rockville, Maryland. I went on to work at local colleges in the DC metropolitan area; my most recent experience was as the counselor for American University’s Learning Services Program. I enjoy building relationships with students and supporting them in their academic work. I have a BA in English from Vassar College and a MAT from Johns Hopkins University. When I taught grade 11 English at McLean, I enjoyed working with other English teachers during Professional Development days to strengthen our curriculum. Collaborating to determine student outcomes and align curriculum is a joyful experience for me.
As a mom of two wonderful sons, I understand the hope many of us have for our children to be seen, heard, and truly known. McLean School is a place where children can thrive. Our school fosters strong relationships as faculty and staff are deeply devoted to supporting each student and creating an inclusive environment. I am fortunate to work at McLean and look forward to meeting you soon.
