With a degree in Special Education and a staunch advocacy for evidence-based instruction, I understand the critical importance of incorporating the Science of Reading research into curriculum development. I am certified in Orton-Gillingham and have attended numerous seminars, workshops, and conferences over the years, reinforcing my belief that reading instruction is truly akin to rocket science. Additionally, I have enriched my knowledge through interactive book study courses. I am passionate about the potential of every child and firmly believe that any student, with few extraordinary exceptions, can learn to read and comprehend with the right guidance and support. This belief drives me to continually seek out the most effective methods to help my students succeed. My tenure at McLean since 2001 is a testament to the joy this school and its community bring me.
Outside of school, I treasure my overnight adventures with my grandson and family time. I love sunny days and spending time at the beach and pool. Put me anywhere by a body of water, and I will be in paradise.
