Teaching grade 8 literature at McLean brings me great joy. After graduating from Rutgers College, I taught middle and high school English and language arts before transitioning to school leadership. After earning a Master’s of Educational Leadership and a Doctorate in Curriculum in Instruction, both from The George Washington University, I have worked as a school leader, teacher educator, curriculum developer, and instructional and leadership coach. Before coming to McLean, I served as the Principal at Shepherd Elementary and the Chief Academic Officer for E.L. Haynes Public Charter School. My students have enjoyed choosing and facilitating their discussions for literary circles in the fourth quarter. They have also enjoyed studying topics such as artificial intelligence, cloning, and human longevity to build background knowledge for reading.
I have lived in the District for twenty-six years, have three children, and a Goldendoodle. I enjoy cooking, playing cards and mahjong, pilates, and golf.
