What is the Fentanyl Crisis & How to Protect Your Family
Fentanyl is a synthetic drug being illegally distributed as a prescription drug, an over the counter medication, or mixed with marijuana. It is then shared with unsuspecting persons resulting in thousands of drug overdoses and deaths. Due to Fentanyl’s high addiction rate, the need for more is experienced very quickly and overdoses and death often accompany its repeated use. These “hidden” sources of Fentanyl find their way to unsuspecting younger people and are the reason for the largest number of deaths from Fentanyl occuring in teen and pre-teen populations. Families need to be talking about this epidemic and sharing important prevention strategies to lower the risk for unintentional use or overdose.
