Dual Enrollment & Experiential Learning
Dual Enrollment & Experiential Learning
McLean is committed to supporting the education of our upper school students outside of McLean through college coursework and experiential learning opportunities. McLean collaborates with local colleges and universities so that qualified juniors and seniors are able to enroll in college classes if schedules and other academic obligations permit.
In addition to college courses, students may choose to take online AP courses that are not offered at McLean, complete trainings such as EMT trainings, or participate in apprenticeships. It’s a great way to get a sense of post-secondary expectations, and also expand knowledge in areas of interest, while still in high school.
By the time I got to school [at Rochester Institute of Technology] I had 33 credits from dual enrollment and my AP exams. More importantly, I had the experience of working with professors and knowing how to take what I learned about myself as a student at McLean and put it into practice before going away from home.
